Wood producers and exporters are pinning high hope on trade fairs and expos, as the lack of orders is causing difficulties for their production and business activities, according to insiders.
L’exposition internationale d’exportation des produits en bois et articles artisanaux Vietnam – ASEAN 2023 (VIFA ASEAN 2023), première édition de ce genre, se tiendra du 29 août au 1er septembre au Centre des foires et expositions internationales de Saigon (SECC).
Thị trường sản phẩm gỗ của ASEAN có giá trị lên đến trên 3 tỉ USD nhưng nhiều năm qua các doanh nghiệp Việt Nam chưa chú trọng khai thác. Trong bối cảnh khó khăn hiện nay, các doanh nghiệp ngành gỗ có thể tập trung khai thác thị trường ASEAN.
Chiều 17-8, Liên đoàn Thương mại và Công nghiệp Việt Nam, chi nhánh TP.HCM (VCCI-HCM) cùng Hiệp hội Dừa Việt Nam và công ty cổ phần thủ công mỹ nghệ Gỗ Liên Minh tổ chức buổi tọa đàm công bố tổ chức Hội chợ Quốc tế đồ gỗ và mỹ nghệ xuất khẩu Việt Nam ASEAN lần 1 – VIFA ASIAN 2023.

“Đà suy giảm kim ngạch xuất khẩu gỗ trong tháng 4 đã chậm lại so với các tháng trước đó. Đây có thể xem là tín hiệu tích cực trong bức tranh chung của ngành còn nhiều khó khăn”, ông Trần Ngọc Liêm, Giám đốc Liên đoàn Thương mại và Công nghiệp Việt Nam chi nhánh tại TP.HCM (VCCI HCM) nhận định.
Hội chợ hứa hẹn sẽ trở thành một địa điểm xúc tiến thương mại quan trọng tầm cỡ khu vực của ASEAN vào mùa Thu được tổ chức tháng 8 hàng năm.
